    Your Donation is Important!

    Your membership donation helps support programs and projects that educate, engage, and promote stewardship of our local Skagit marine environment. As a member, you will receive our quarterly newsletter and be invited to special events.

    Our Annual Meeting this year will be on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the NWESD building, 1601 R Ave., Anacortes - 9:00 am to noon

    Donations help fund:

    • Winter Lecture Series –  A sequence of four (4) free lectures, January through April, featuring some of the regions foremost experts on a range of important and interesting environmental topics.

    • The Fidalgo Shoreline Academy – An information packed "one-day University" featuring an inspiring keynote address with optional breakout sessions on a wide range of environmental, historical, and cultural topics pertinent to our area.

    • The Salish Sea Steward Program – Friends offers support to the Skagit Marine Resource Committee’s volunteer training program designed to prepare citizens to participate in a wide range of stewardship and citizen science programs that directly benefit the community.

    • Trail Tales Interpretive Programs – Walk along the Tommy Thompson Trail and you will see our informational signs that highlight the local history and marine ecosystem.

    • Forage Fish, Intertidal Monitoring, and our new Plastics Education Interpretive Stations – Watch for these mobile stations to pop up on the beach or other local events!

    • Discovery Passports – A fun family oriented event featuring passports of discovery, games, drawing contest for kids, interactive and educational displays, complimentary seafood, beach seining, and much more..

    • Volunteer appreciation events - Our community of volunteers continues to grow and helping to promote networking and connections is vital to help ongoing projects thrive while developing new projects.
