Friday October 11:  Friends of Skagit Beaches Trail Tales Program and Skagit County Marine Resources Committee are excited to present a screening of “Ocean Frontiers: The Dawn of a New Era in Ocean Stewardship.”  The documentary, produced by Green Fire Productions covers inspiring stories of how diverse stakeholder groups in four different communities across the country found solutions to their shared marine resource challenges through collaboration and cooperation. The message is clear - people with backgrounds as diverse as whale biologists, wheat farmers, harbor pilots, wetland ecologists, reef snorkelers, fishermen, industry, conservation and government groups can successfully work together to address the challenges they share in sustaining coastal and ocean ecosystems in their communities.  Doors open at 5:30 PM for refreshments and informational displays.  The film showing begins at 6 PM followed by a brief panel discussion.
