From the distant snow capped Cascades down to Fidalgo Bay is an intertwined web of life not always visible, but dramatic nevertheless. Family Discovery Walk: Tombolos and Eelgrass and Herons Oh My (Sat. 27 Jul, 2013 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

Lions and tigers and bears are not in the Fidalgo Bay area, but tombolos and eelgrass and herons are!  We will act out the story of "The Tombolo Who Wanted to Be a Neck," experiment with eelgrass, and (hopefully) see great blue herons fishing for their next meal.  So join us on this family-friendly walk to discover some of the natural history that makes Fidalgo Bay so special. This walk leaves from the Fidalgo RV Park and follows a paved, flat trail that is handicapped accessible.
